For those who don’t know Magfest was last weekend. This event was the forum for our first public demonstration of Imperatum.
I’d like to thank everyone at the event that took the time to check out the game and provide feedback to myself and the team. As well as the event staff that made Magfest a success. The experience and feedback was fantastic.
Magfest was broken up over four days and took place in the Gaylord Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland.
The convention center had areas dedicated to major events, game types, concerts and demonstrations. The primary expo hall is where the indie games, and our team, were demo’d.
Our team didn’t have a playable demo by the cut off date to secure our own booth. So we had so sign up for quick play slots. These two hour slots, with prime placement, were great for demoing the game.
The team ended up showing off the game for about eight hours before we had to hand off the spot to other teams.
The feedback from that short period was incredible and we had multiple players take the time to fill out our page long questionnaires after completing the game.
What surprised us the most was the players who reported playing a great deal of other ARPG’s. They really understood the systems that are in Imperatum and where this project is headed. When asked what else would they like the see in the game – the universal response was “this game has everything I want in an ARPG.”
So again a special thanks to all of you that took the time to play the game and give us feedback.
I will be at GDC in San Francisco for a few days and then the team will be demoing again at PAX East. So come on out! We hope to see you there!
